1/ Giới thiệu Khoa

Khoa công trình giao thông được hình thành trên cơ sở bộ môn Công trình thủy và thềm lục địa từ năm 1997 khi Trường đại học GTVT TP Hồ Chí Minh là Phân hiệu của Trường đại học Hàng Hải. Trải qua gần 20 năm hình thành và phát triển, Khoa hiện đang đảm nhiệm công tác quản lý và đào tạo bậc đại học, sau đại học, liên thông và vừa làm,vừa học cho gần 3.000 sinh viên. Khoa hiện có hơn 50 cán bộ giảng viên, phần lớn có có trình độ trên đại học, trong đó có 15 Tiến sĩ, 11 Nghiên cứu sinh tiến sỹ đang công tác tại 5 Bộ môn chuyên ngành và Phòng thí nghiệm công trình của Khoa. Sinh viên Khoa CTGT là nòng cốt của các hoạt động xã hội và đội tuyển của Trường tham dự các cuộc thi nghiên cứu khoa học và đã đạt được nhiều giải thưởng VIFOTEC, EUREKA hay các giải Olympic cơ học toàn quốc.

4/ Hoạt động nghiên cứu khoa học và chuyển giao công nghệ

Khoa công trình giao thông là một trong những đơn vị hàng đầu chuyên nghiên cứu và chuyển giao công nghệ trong lĩnh vực công trình giao thông ở khu vực miền Nam, Việt Nam. Các buổi báo cáo chuyên đề được tổ chức đều đặn hàng tháng. Khoa đã tổ chức hoặc phối hợp tổ chức nhiều hội thảo trong nước và quốc tế trên các lĩnh vực như phát triển giao thông bền vững, an toàn giao thông, đường sắt đô thị, tính toán kết cấu công trình,….Giảng viên của Khoa đã và đang tham gia nhiều đề tài, dự án nghiên cứu lớn của Bộ GTVT, của TP Hồ Chí Minh và các tỉnh thành khác trong khuc vực.
